Full Tilt Poker
The Full Tilt Poker saga has seemingly been an endless one. It was thought that Groupe Bernard Tapie would put an end to all the drama by buying and rebuilding the site, and there was even the potential that Full Tilt would become one of the US poker sites once again.
Unfortunately, these hopes have been dashed. As of late April 2012, the U.S. Department of Justice and Groupe Bernard Tapie broke off their seven month negotiation process after hitting several snags. The DOJ had issues with how players living outside of America would be paid back. To start, they would have to play an unknown amount on the site to have access to account balances over $100. They would also have been subjected to inactivity penalties.
The poker world was floored when they found out about another possible solution, however. The PokerStars download is now in talks…Read More
As their postponed date with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission draws ever nearer, us poker sites Full Tilt Poker have released another statement. In the midst of upbeat language, it contains dire messages about the financial stability of the company.
After recapping the actions of Black Friday and the subsequent suspension of their license by the AGCC, the press release moves on to assess the site’s monetary situation. The focus is on Pocket Kings, the Ireland-based company responsible for the software and marketing of Full Tilt Poker.
After restructuring their management team, the company brought in Sea Port Group Securities, LLC to conduct a thorough audit of the company’s cash flow problems. The press release reveals that Pocket Kings “need to reduce their costs by approximately €12 million,” in order to stay afloat.
This could mean the severance of around 250 jobs, alongside a series of harsh cost cutting…Read More
If you pay close attention to online poker rooms, chances are you know of the ongoing licensing problems of Full Tilt Poker. This past Friday the Kahnawake Gaming Commission gave the site a renewal of their Secondary Client Provider Authorization for a 2 year term.
If you are surprised to learn that Kahnawake licenses Full Tilt Poker at all, you are not alone. Kahnawake is the same commission that licenses Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, the home of several scandals. The Cereus network once owned two of the best Mac poker sites online, but they have been unable to pay back Americans since the April indictments. This is something they have in common with Full Tilt.
Despite the fact that Full Tilt was able to renew their secondary license, they must attend a hearing with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) in order to get their…Read More
On April 15th players all around the United States of America became aware of the grim reality referred to as Black Friday, as their ability to play online poker on the three major sites was stripped away. Shortly afterward, however, PokerStars allowed their players to access the cashier so that they could withdraw their funds. They didn’t have the ability to earn PokerStars rakeback anymore, but at least they got their money back.
The same good news did not come from Full Tilt, though. Americans have not had access to their real money accounts since April 15th. And now it’s not just the USA – players everywhere in the world have had their Full Tilt money frozen.
The Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) decided to suspend Full Tilt Poker’s license on April 29th. Full Tilt was one of the best Mac poker sites around, but they have been…Read More
