Merge may be the most popular US friendly site now, but this could change in the near future. Lock Poker, which is currently part of Merge, announced early this month that they are planning on buying the Cake Poker Network. This means that they will be leaving Merge and starting a new network with Cake. The new network will be called Revolution Gaming and will be owned by Lock Poker management.

Revolution Gaming is to go live on June 1st, which means that May 1st is the last day Lock Poker will be part of the Merge network. Players won’t find much disruption as they will just need to experience a software upgrade on May 31st.

Merge Poker will likely experience a significant traffic downgrade as Lock Poker currently accounts for 40% of their player base. At the same time, the Cake Poker download will experience a significant traffic upgrade due to this move.

Cake Poker used to be one of the biggest American poker sites, but Black Friday changed everything. Because they had such bad cashier problems, people left the site in favor of Lock Poker and the Carbon Poker download. Hopefully the move to the new network will change things, however. Since the new network is launched on June 1st, we will probably hear more details on the move soon.

The Full Tilt Poker saga has seemingly been an endless one. It was thought that Groupe Bernard Tapie would put an end to all the drama by buying and rebuilding the site, and there was even the potential that Full Tilt would become one of the US poker sites once again.

Unfortunately, these hopes have been dashed. As of late April 2012, the U.S. Department of Justice and Groupe Bernard Tapie broke off their seven month negotiation process after hitting several snags. The DOJ had issues with how players living outside of America would be paid back. To start, they would have to play an unknown amount on the site to have access to account balances over $100. They would also have been subjected to inactivity penalties.

The poker world was floored when they found out about another possible solution, however. The PokerStars download is now in talks with the DOJ to buy FTP. The deal gives PokerStars the chance to acquire FTP and clear any ill will they have with American government at the same time.

While this seems like quite the outlandish idea, the rumor picked up quite a bit of steam since its arrival. The news appeared on legitimate websites such as the Wall Street Journal’s website. PokerStars released a vague announcement on their corporate website soon after, stating that they are unable to talk about any ongoing talks with the DOJ. Many industry insiders have come out of the woodwork to convey that they, too, have heard of PokerStars intentions to purchase FTP. The combination of all the factors would lend itself to the idea that all of this is far from fiction.

Many details remain a mystery for now. It is yet unknown how this will affect ongoing charges against PokerStars owner and founder Isai Scheinberg. It is also unknown whether PokerStars would run FTP as a separate entity if the deal were to go through or if they’d fold the beleaguered poker site. What is known is that the next few months will be a very interesting time and that new hope has been given to players who have money stuck on FTP.

If you live in the States right now and have money stuck on the site, you are probably waiting for a solution before you play online poker again. In the meantime, you could consider playing online casino games. There are plenty of sites available to Americans, and they offer games such as Blackjack, 3d slots, and Roulette.

Danish poker players have created their very own version of a poker hat trick after dominating their third straight European Poker Tour event. The latest victory came in Campione, and the hero of the day was Jannick Wrang. Winning a major tournament is one thing but doing what Jannick Wrang did was legendary. Not only did he make it three wins in a row for Denmark, he also overcame a very capable final table with Olivier “livb112” Busquet as his heads-up opponent.

Wrang’s victory was encouraging for players of all kinds as he got into EPT Campione via a $309 online satellite. Quite often players can’t afford buy-ins to €5,000 live tournaments, so winning a satellite is a more realistic scenario. If you are interested in going this route, the Titan Poker download is known as a great place to satellite into major poker tournaments all across Europe.

This was the EPT’s first ever stop in Campione. However, despite the fact the EPT has never stopped there, Campione has grown into quite the poker hotspot. This small Italian municipality has played host to numerous big poker tournaments beforehand, including the Italian Poker Tour. Campione has proved itself to be quite the place for gamblers of all sorts. Whether you’re interested in poker or Internet slots, you’ll be able to find whatever you’re looking for in Campione.

Before claiming the title and the money, Wrang had to fend off talented players from the online and live poker scene. Fabrice “fabsoul” Soulier and Balazs “birs320” Botond are great players, but they were unable to best Wrang on that day. Wrang then had to contend with the talented Busquet, but he was on fire that day. His chip advantage proved to be too much for Busquet, and Wrang was able to take it down.

Congratulations to Wrang for winning €640,000 and the EPT Campione title! While some players might doubt that they’ll ever be able to make a prestigious final table such as this one, Wrang’s win is proof positive that everyone has a chance. If you would like this opportunity for yourself, definitely try online poker. A William Poker download is a good place to start if you are still looking for a room to play at.

Major final tables can be a scary proposition for players who don’t have experience in big money situations. It’s easy to get caught up in the lights and the situation. With all the money at stake and more experienced players surrounding them, it’s quite easy for the less experienced players to falter and fall short of the top prizes. On occasion the odds can be beaten, however, and these players are able take down the title and money. The 2012 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star event served as a great reminder of this as two unheralded players decided against a video poker download and combined to win over $1.5 million.

It’s one thing to make a big final table; it’s another thing entirely to make a big final table with lots of chips to back it up. Moon Kim and Ubaid Habib not only made the Bay 101 Shooting Star final table but did so with over 200 big blinds between them. That put them in a great position to win some of the massive money at the top of the payout list. They had their work cut out for them with notable players such as Joe “floes” Serock and Erik Cajelais at the final table with them. If you’d like to play some big live events without paying big money to do so, then you should check out the Carbon Poker download and satellite into some events of your own.

The final table began with an absurd amount of play left to go with the average stack coming in right around 100 big blinds. As predicted the final table took quite some time to get moving with Joseph Elpayaa taking 6th place after 113 hands of play. After that the pace picked up, with Andrew Badecker taking 4th place after being busted by Kim. As the final table wore on Kim and Habib continued to gain momentum. Cajelais and Serock were unable to hold off the amateurs and had to settle for 4th and 3rd place, respectively.

Maybe taking a bit of inspiration from Deal or No Deal Online, Kim and Habib chose to play for the remaining money rather than make a deal. With over 100 big blinds left in play there was still a lot of room for some action. Kim enjoyed the chip lead at the beginning of heads-up play. Habib was never able to pick up the momentum necessary to topple Kim and finished in 2nd place for $570,200, a nice consolation prize.

The day belonged to Moon Kim as he was able to parlay his stack into $960,900 and the glory of taking down the 2012 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star event. Congratulations to him!

There are very few tournament players that don’t dream of winning a major live event, professional player or otherwise. Whether they play low limit tournaments on PokerStars or major live tournaments in casinos like the Rio during the World Series of Poker, the goal is to take down a gigantic live tournament. Long-time online professional grinder Mickey “mementmori” Petersen decided to do just that but with a twist.

Petersen is well known amongst the online poker community as one of the brightest minds in the game as well as one of the hardest workers. If you make a PokerStars install, you will have the chance to play with him as he is part of PokerStars Team Online. With less than one hundred live tournaments under his belt, he hadn’t been able to snag a big score yet. His deepest run in a major live event prior to EPT Copenhagen was 15th place in a $1,500 World Series of Poker Event last summer.

Peterson took a break from his Party Poker download and decided to change everything with style. Rather than just simply win a major live event, Petersen chose to do it in his own hometown while taking down a tough final table. En route to finishing off the tournament down he outlasted seasoned professionals such as Aage Ravn and Steve O’ Dwyer.

Petersen then settled into an epic battle with yet another experienced professional in Team PokerStars Pro: Pierre Neuville. Petersen declined a deal for the remaining prize money during heads-up play despite his opponent being more experienced than him in the live arena. What followed was a grueling battle with numerous swings in both directions with Petersen getting stronger as the match went on.

While his older counterpart may have held the experience, Petersen seemed to be the more talented player. After all was said and done, Petersen had his hand raised in victory. He took home an impressive $452k in the process!

If you dream of winning a big event one day, you should hone your skills online. Try a PKR download and get to the tables right away!

The hopes of many American poker players were raised last month when news broke of a potential for an online poker bill to get tacked onto an important payroll tax bill. If that would’ve happened, it would’ve been eerily reminiscent of the way the UIGEA was tacked onto the SAFE Port Act in 2006. However, it was not to be as Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced that an online poker bill would not be piggybacked onto a payroll tax bill.

Rumblings began to pop up in the poker world in mid-February that something would further the fight for online poker in America. Perhaps a Ladbrokes poker download would become an option for Americans? With the latest rumor squashed, however, players have to once again wonder when they’ll have access to legalized online poker in America. While players have access to sites like Bovada, Merge and Cake it is unknown how long these sites will still be accessible by Americans or if the Department of Justice will go after these sites.

Unfortunately for the multitude of poker players who were hoping that this would be the beginning of daylight for online casinos for USA players, the issue has once again been put on the back burner. The payroll tax bill was too complicated by itself without the issue of online poker being added to the discussion. The road ahead for online poker in America will also be complicated, as will be the discussions that lie ahead for the game at a federal level.

While states such as Nevada appear to be moving towards legalized online poker at the intrastate level, the ultimate goal is federally legalized online poker. The opportunities will be few and far between in 2012 with only a few windows of opportunity as well as opponents in state lotteries and Native American tribes.

If you love online gambling but aren’t willing to risk your money on some of the smaller sites still available to Americans, perhaps try giving some casino games a try. Many of these sites can be funded using online casino Amex, which means that depositing is a piece of cake.

The biggest poker festival in the world, the World Series of Poker, has released its schedule for 2012. As always, the schedule has a wide variety that appeals to a wide range of poker players. Beginning on May 27th and running until July 26th, there will be 61 bracelet events in the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas. Even though the best Euro poker sites aren’t permitted in the United States, many poker professionals will visit Vegas to try to win a bracelet.

The “November Nine” has been scrapped, but in its place is a reunion of the final nine players on October 28th. While many were delighted to hear that the November Nine would be no more, their joy was short lived as the announcement that the final table would take place from October 28th to October 30th was released.

There are some brand new events in this year’s WSOP that are sure to pique the interest of players. Event 3 will be a $3,000 heads-up No Limit Hold’Em and Pot Limit Omaha mixed event. Just a few events later there will be another brand new tournament with Event 6 being a $5,000 Mixed Max event. What that means is that Day 1 will be nine-handed, Day 2 will be six-handed, and Days 3 and 4 will be heads-up. All days will be No Limit Hold’Em.

This year’s schedule also includes an event that will likely have some of the biggest payouts in the history of poker tournaments. The brainchild of Guy Laliberte, “The Big One For One Drop” will feature an unbelievable $1 million buy-in with 11% of the buy-in going to charity. The three day event will be sure to attract the attention of the poker community and should make for great entertainment. If you can’t make it to Vegas, be sure to keep track of the fun via your favorite poker forum.

And of course no WSOP is complete without the Main Event. The path to the final table begins on July 7th and ends momentarily on July 16th until the final nine players return on the aforementioned date of October 28th. There will be three Day 1s this year with no days off in between. The number of tables the 2012 WSOP will have access to will be 470, which is a large increase over last year’s 378. This will help make the Main Event run more smoothly since there are just three starting days now.

Some people were surprised when he left Team PokerStars Pro, but Hachem voiced the desire to spend more time with his family. It seemed obvious to some that Hachem would continue playing poker on the best Mac poker sites to keep the money coming it, but it looks like this was incorrect.

Instead, Hachem decided to partner with AsianLogic. In addition to running online casinos and poker rooms for the Asian market, AsianLogic also hosts the Asian Poker Tour, an independent poker series that has been around since 2008. This year the Asian Poker Tour will host tournaments in the Philippines, Macau, and India.

Many people view Asia and Australia as poker markets with plenty of future potential, Hachem included. He hopes to help poker grow in the Asia Pacific area and in Australia. How he does this remains to be seen. We are assuming that he will play in at least a couple Asian Poker Tour events.

Hachem isn’t the first player to partner with AsianLogic. Other poker pros currently acting as Asian Poker Tour ambassadors are J.C. Tran and Nam Le.

If you are new to poker and want to try a new poker site, you have a lot of options. Give PokerStars a try, but also keep in mind that Titan Poker is a great place to play, as well. Vinci un bonus del 150% fino a $600 con Titan Poker download oggi stesso!

UltimateBet was one of the biggest US poker sites in the world before April 15, 2011, otherwise known as Black Friday to online poker players. Thousands of players have money locked up thanks to Black Friday, but very little information has been made to the public regarding what is currently happening with what remains of the company, 6356095 Canada Inc.

6356095 Canada Inc., also known as Excapsa Software Inc., has just had a lawsuit filed against them in the US District Court in California. The plaintiffs are eight poker players that are accusing the company of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, otherwise known as the RICO Act.

6356095 Canada Inc. has also been accused of defrauding players out of $20 million after a scandal that saw high stakes cash players swindled by players that could see their cards. The site has admitted to these problems and has repaid the stolen money to the affected players, but the plaintiffs are claiming that they lost way more money than was repaid.

The eight plaintiffs are attempting to get $1.73 million out of 6356095 Canada Inc., as well as extra compensation for potential punitive damage. Included among the plaintiffs are well known poker pros Dustin Woolf, Brad Booth, and Thomas Koral. Does the fact that they took the time to file this lawsuit mean that these players have not had much success on the best Euro poker sites since Black Friday?

While it is unknown how it will affect he lawsuit, currently 6356095 Canada Inc. is undergoing liquidation proceedings in Canada.

An outsider might argue against the necessity for such a lawsuit at this moment in time. Why aren’t these professional poker players playing on other sites for income rather than attempting to sue an already troubled business? For example, a Cake Poker download is an option. Maybe they know something we don’t know, however, and their lawsuit will prove successful. We will wait and see!

This No Limit Hold’em event attracted just 30 people, so it was to be expected that the world’s best players were going to be found at the final table.

Players had access to an optional rebuy, but Jonathan Duhamel and Bill Perkins were the only players to take it for an additional $100k each. When Day 2 of the tournament started, Isaac Haxton was the chip leader, but he busted before the day was over. I have a feeling he used a PokerStars install on his laptop to keep himself busy after he busted. What do you think?

Just 7 players remained after Day 2 was complete, and Galen Hall was the chip leader. You might know Hall as the player that won the PCA Main Event last year for $2.3 million. He beat an extremely good player in Chris Oliver, also down has “GettinDaize” online.

Several PokerStars pros made the final table of the event: Duhamel, Humberto Brenes, Daniel Negreanu, and Viktor Blom. Blom is better known as Isildur1 on PokerStars, and he is famous for playing in the biggest online casino USA heads-up poker games. The other three pros to make the final table were Scott Seiver, Dan Shak, and Mike McDonald.

The tournament only paid 5 players, though. The bubble boys were Seiver, McDonald, and Brenes. Negreanu was the first player to bust in the money, eliminated in 5th place for $250,900. Duhamel was the next to go in 4th place for $313,600.

Hall hoped to win 7-figures for the second year in a row, but it wasn’t to be as he got coolered with 99 against Blom’s pocket aces. He had to settle for $470,400 and 3rd place. This left Shak as a chip underdog against Blom heads-up. Shak couldn’t mount a comeback, so he busted in 2nd place for a nice consolation prize of $846,700.

Congratulations to Blom for winning the Super High Roller for $1.25 million! This was especially sweet for him as it was his first ever major live tournament victory.
